If we can think it, we can do it !

A FORUM FOR INNOVATION - INSPIRED BY THE POETRY OF DESIGN.

" INA " - 1997 - studies on  BIONIC DESIGN and low contact surface.

Sold already on eBay on 14 - 03 - 2004 ( 14000 $ US. )

History: 1989 - My first studies on designing yachts for high speed stability, low water friction and easy manoeuvrability. I called them "mono-trimmarans"...

The yellow color on the right draw, is the variable geometry contact surface  on high speed.

1989 First study.

1989 Second study.

First of all, I'm a sculptor... so believe it or not, I'm working better in 3D in my head, that I express myself on the paper or computer.

This is my only plan for this yacht, a simple drawing  done in front of the TV during a commercial...

... Easy understanding why I'll always need a good secretary (mammy) to keep some order in my head and plans... or in my life: in a perfect-organized-disaster-way ...

BIONIC DESIGN:

... My design style for this prototype !!!???... maybe some  medieval lines with an aggressive feline touch...

Using BIONICS, I tried to find that unique beauty and elegance for this  "shark"...

The yellow color on the right draw, is the variable geometry on water-contact surface  on high speed.

The controlled variable geometry.

Take this !

The design compensated by the powerful turbines permit a turn (180 degree ) in a radius less than the body length. You have to see this...!!!

Prototype ready for scanning and tunnel sensor analyzing.

Length: 9 feet functional Yacht model ( remote control ), 56 kg.

Propulsion - 2 electric turbines, battery 12 volt  - 60 Ah.

Materials: wood, plastic, fiber glass and metal.

Already published in "RC MARINE", July 1997, Paris, FRANCE.

My  friends  call  me  Gulliver..."The boy with his toy"...

... Maybe when I shoot the picture they stole my bike...

Pictures - " Cu-cu, it's me... ":  were done in The Old Port of Montreal and down town - Place des Arts in "Day one",  when  I tried the finished model for the first time...  with all that "circus atmosphere"....  you don't see that in down town each morning. "

( SURPRISE) I've done this prototype on my kitchen with no tools... sure, because "no money"... In the picture you may see all the tools that I used to build this 9 feet remote control - functional Prototype... And, yes, believe it or not, the last tool on the picture is a kitchen knife...

This picture: a "tribute to all my tools" on "day one" when I tried my prototype on the water on some public pool...
